What is Tamogi-take?

Even among mushrooms, the Tamogi-take or golden oyster mushroom, stands out for its richness of nutrients.

野生のたもぎ茸 In the short summers of Hokkaido, and edible mushroom comes to fruition in the deep forest. This is the tamogitake, or golden oyster mushroom (Pleutotus cornucopiae var. citrinopileatus). Our ancestors in Japan were amazed and enchanted by its golden color, fresh scent and springy texture. They searched for this elusive mushroom, whose brief season earned it the nickname of "phantom mushroom."

In 1985, Three B Inc. started developing artificial cultivation methods for golden oyster mushrooms, hoping to bring this rarity to the dinner table more often. Our research revealed it to be unusually nutritious for a ushroom. The golden oyster mushroom abounds in components that have strong beneficial health effects. Since 1985 we've been conducting intensive R&D on this mushroom - including its cultivation and processing. The golden oyster mushroom brings new possibilities for food and health to people today. Three B is endeavoring to enrich your health and diet by harnessing the unlimited potential of the golden oyster mushroom in the 21st cntury, the century when fungi will truly come into their own.

Feature ingredients of Tamogi-take

ThreeBのたもぎ茸 It has been known that the Tamogi-take mushroom has abundant 'Umami' (good taste) ingredients, amino acid and polysaccharides

Among those, the one that draws attention recently is a substance called ' Ergothioneine.' It has been also known that ergothioneine has high anti-oxidant property, and it is found in the blood of animals and also in important organs such as the liver. Thus it is thought that ergothioneine plays a critical role for life support. Ergothioneine is often found in mushrooms, but humans are not able to biosynthesize it. Therefore, we need to take it by eating food

Particularly one of the polysaccharides found in the Tamogi-take mushuroom is (1->3)-β-D-glucan that is said to stimulate the immunity function. It acts on the macrophages, one of the human white blood cells, and enhances them. It also activates the T-cells from the thymus gland and immune cells from the bone marrow, and augments immune production by B-cells. 。

Three-B's unique artificial cultivation system

Thanks to advances in biotechnology, Three-B's artificial cultivation system has made it possible for people throughout Japan to enjoy golden oyster mushrooms, the "phantom mushroom." A culture medium of sawdust from Hokkaido trees is put into a culture bottle and sterilized. The bottle is automatically seeded with golden oyster mushroom inocula in a germ-free room. We carefully nurture them by maintaining the proper air conditions. After harvesting the mushrooms, we divide them into small portions, pack them automatically, and ship them while they're still fresh. We recycle the culture media as compost or soil-improving material.
